dutch baby apple puff pancake

Ingredients:

  • 1 honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced (I used a mandoline)

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • 4 eggs

  • 2/3 cups whole milk

  • 2/3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt

Cinnamon Butter Maple Syrup

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Step by step:

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees

  2. In a medium cast iron skillet place ¾ of the sliced apples covering the bottom and 4 tbsp butter and brown sugar on top!

  3. Bake for 10 minutes

  4. Add the rest of ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth!

  5. Once 10 minutes is up- pour your batter straight into the skillet and put back into the oven for 17 minutes!

  6. While the pancake is baking - make the cinnamon butter maple syrup!

  7. In a saucepan - bring the maple syrup, butter, and cinnamon to a boil then reduce to medium low heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla ! Serve warm on top of the pancake and I topped mine off with greek yogurt and granola! Enjoy!
