Onsen Egg

Ingredients:

  • 4¼ cups water

  • ¾ cup tap water (the water needs to be colder than room temperature)

  • 4 large eggs (refrigerated)

  • natto (fermented soybeans)

Step by Step:

  1. Pour your water into pot, cover tightly and bring to a boil

  2. Once water is boiling, remove the pot from heat. Add the cold tap water to the pot and gently submerge the cold eggs in the hot water. Immediately cover and set the timer for 17 minutes.

  3. Once 17 minutes have passed, gently take the eggs out of the water and set them aside for 5 minutes.

  4. Then sprinkle furikake on top of a bowl of rice and then mix green onion slices into your natto (fermented soybeans) and mix in the soy sauce packet that it comes with.

  5. Finally, crack your onsen egg on top of the natto and enjoy!
