dutch baby apple puff pancake
Ingredients:
- 1 honeycrisp apple, thinly sliced (I used a mandoline)
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cups whole milk
- 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 3/4 tsp kosher salt
Cinnamon Butter Maple Syrup
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Step by step:
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees
- In a medium cast iron skillet place ¾ of the sliced apples covering the bottom and 4 tbsp butter and brown sugar on top!
- Bake for 10 minutes
- Add the rest of ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth!
- Once 10 minutes is up- pour your batter straight into the skillet and put back into the oven for 17 minutes!
- While the pancake is baking - make the cinnamon butter maple syrup!
- In a saucepan - bring the maple syrup, butter, and cinnamon to a boil then reduce to medium low heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes, then remove from heat and stir in vanilla ! Serve warm on top of the pancake and I topped mine off with greek yogurt and granola! Enjoy!
