How I Balance Gym, Work, and Social

Hiiii! I just got back from Tokyo with Shiseido. But before I left, I was slammed with multiple events back to back, filming collaborations, AND re-designing my website. Managing everything at the same time was sooo stressful, which made going to the gym even more important for me! It’s such a great stress reliever! I sometimes have no clue how I’m able to squeeze everything in, but it’s the best feeling in the world when I'm done.

I know that keeping up with a consistent workout routine and making time for other important things in life is not easy! Now that I've found a formula that works, I wanted to share how I balance my time between the gym, work, and having a social life. I know several of you struggle with making time to sweat! And I totally get it, so I hope that my tips below will help you find balance in your own schedule even when you're overwhelmed. Once you figure it out, I promise it's going to be sooo rewarding! 

Start your day early

I’m a huge believer in starting the day early because you can accomplish so much more. The first thing I do is make a run for the gym, that way I don’t have to worry about squeezing it in later when I literally have no time. Plus, it gets me energized and pumped for the rest of the day. Becoming a morning person was probably one of the biggest adjustments I've had to make, but the benefits have been worth it. Try it yourself and watch how you'll be able to jumpstart your fitness goals! Ultimately, you'll feel stronger physically and mentally and that is the best way to start any day!

Create a schedule

Work can be unpredictable as a social media influencer, but a schedule is essential to managing deadlines, knowing where I need to be and when, and prioritizing. You guys know how much I love making lists! I always start with a schedule and make a bulleted list of all the tasks that need to be checked off for the week. In that list, I also set intentional goals for the things that are important to me (like time with friends and family!).

Stay unplugged

Staying unplugged is just as important as staying plugged. If you don’t make time to unwind and turn off, you’ll be working ALL THE TIME. I started making an intentional habit of staying unplugged at night so I can do things I appreciate like organize or read. I also stay off my phone and laptop when I’m on vacation or with friends and family so I can really enjoy their company. 

Make gym time social 

If you’re not spending enough time with your friends, try to buddy up at the gym or go for a run together. I love working out with friends because it motivates and challenges me yet it’s so much fun. If your friends aren't into that gym life, you can alway go for a hike! I sometimes share this on stories because I enjoy it so much. Once you’re done, you can run out for a hearty breakfast or smoothie! It’s good to switch things up once in a while and this is an awesome way to do it.

Live a little

Don't feel obligated to restrict yourself to certain foods or work out every day. I have rest days and cheat meals which are essential to balance! I love my pastas and dessert so I will indulge from time to time but always in moderation. If you have a hard time eating healthy, try stocking up on wholesome snacks and making juices in bigger batches so you can grab and go. This has helped me tremendously!

Remember that balance is about what works for you and what makes you feel good. And then giving in and resting when you need it. Listen to your body and nourish it! If you have any other time management tips, I'd love to hear all about it!
