Homemade garlic fries

Ingredients:

  • 3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil divided

  • 4 Yukon potatoes

  • 1 tsp salt plus additional to taste

  • 2 tsp garlic, chopped

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • Toppings (optional) fresh parsley, chives, freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Step by step:

  1. First peel and thinly cut the potatoes in 1/4 inch and let soak in water for 2 hours

  2. Once potatoes are done soaking, drain and pat dry with a paper towel. Place into a bowl.

  3. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F. Drizzle a baking sheet with 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil, covering the whole pan

  4. Drizzle with the remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil and sprinkle with salt, chopped garlic and pepper. Toss them and make sure they are evenly coated. Spread the potatoes into a single layer on baking sheet

  5. Roast the potatoes in the oven for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown on the bottom. Flip the potatoes to the other side and place back into the over to roast for another 10 minutes.

  6. Once they are done roasting, take out of the oven and while they are hot, sprinkle with salt and any additional toppings! (I sprinkled mine with parsley and parmesan cheese!)

  7. Serve and enjoy!
