New Blog Series: Remi's 5 Friday Favs

I’m so excited to start this new blog series!

This will be a weekly blog post where I share all things that I’m loving in a week! This can range from a newly discovered IG account, jacket, or Netflix show. You get the gist- so let’s jump in!

1. F45 Training

  • When it comes to working out- I have to be EXCITED about my routine or… my motivation dies off QUICK and sooner or later I’m dreading going to the gym. I know we’ve all been there wayyy too many times. This past week I discovered F45- it’s a workout class that utilizes the entire circuit floor and each class has numbered stations and TV screens to show you exactly what you need to be doing in that station. It’s completely brainless and you’re in and out in 45 minutes having completed a kick-ass full body workout. Some examples of workout stations include jump lunges, step ups, deadlifts, kettlebell lunges, chest press, etc. I was able to get a free week through GLOFOX (download the app) and sign up there. I got a membership after this week. I’m hooked. OH and it may look intimidating at first- it’s a mix of very fit women and men and newbies sprinkled in. My friend Qian just did it with me for the first time and she said once the circuit starts everything becomes less intimidating because everyone is paying attention to what they are doing in their circuit- so don’t worry! And take a friend with you until you’re used to it!

2. THC gummies

  • I mentioned this in my stories but KIVA sent me 5mg THC gummies last month and I jokingly said “ I know what I”ll be doing for Christmas wink wink”- thinking that these gummies would destroy me and glue me to the couch and make me paranoid to talk to anyone. That was not the case though. I started off with taking 1/2 a gummy before bed to fall asleep faster and it’s not only helped me stay asleep all night long but makes me feel sooo relaxed- like I had a glass of red wine but without the alcohol breath and hot red cheeks. If you guys want to try an edible not to get F*ked up but more to RELAX and UNWIND- I highly recommend Kiva products- the espresso beans also taste so good. there are no weed tastes in any of their products- so consume responsibly ; )

3. Ghee Roasted Purple Yams

  • OMG my new addiction…it’s so yummy to have as a bowl topper, a dinner side, or as a snack during the day. I got a bunch of ghee from Forth and Heart (to die for) and pan fry purple yams with ghee and cinnamon.

    • HOW TO MAKE: Skin 1 yam and cut into 1/2 inch rounds and then into quarters. Put yams in a Tupperware bowl and add drizzle of olive oil, pinch of cinnamon and Himalayan salt and shake it up. Next, preheat a sauce pan and add 1 tbsp of grass fed ghee and 1/2 tbsp of coconut oil. Let the pan simmer for 2 minutes then increase the heat to medium and add the yams and a 1/2 cup of water and cover. Every 4-5 minutes, open the lid stir the yams and sprinkle all seasoning salt. Cover pan and repeat until yams are soft. Once yams are fully cooked, you can grate fresh turmeric on top for a little garnish.

4. BUXOM Seychells lip and cheek

  • I went to a fun Buxom event last week and tried out 4 of their new wanderlust primer infused blushes and of course their infamous lip plumping glosses. I’ve been a fan of the glosses since high school so I was happy to see them in new color ways. They make my lips look juicy and sexi but not too sticky. Anyway I’m OBSESSED with the color Seychell- I immediately look like I came back from a tropical island getaway with a really pretty flushed glow- been wearing it non stop ever since. If you’re looking for a pretty blush - I highly recommend testing it out next time you see it!

5. Atrium in Los Feliz

  • I LOVE TRYING NEW PLACES TO EAT IN LA. It’s maybe my number 2 hobby next to going plant shopping. Anyway I went to dinner here a few weeks ago and can’t get it out of my mind. From the chic atrium atmosphere (pictures online don’t do it justice) to the food to the privacy that you get sitting at the booths- I mean everything was spot on. I ordered the oysters, beef carpaccio, honey roasted beets, roasted squash agnolotti, and the steak. Let me know if you give this spot a try. I think it’s a great girls dinner or first date vibe type of place! (dim lights, romantic, tasteful, etc) ; D
